Razor electric scooter models differ slightly in price, age range and speed. Some Razor models are appropriate for kids to use only, some are okay for adults to use too.
All Razor electric scooters take around 12 to 24 hours to fully charge up with the exception to the Razor EcoSmart Metro, which takes 2.5 to 12 hours to fully charge.
As you can see, there is a range of Razor electric scooters for kids, teenagers and adults to use. The slowest Razor electric scooter is the E90 going to the fastest, which is called the Razor EcoSmart Metro.
Before you look at the comparison chart I will explain the price structure:

Basically, as the age range increases so does the scooter price tag. I have also included our star rating system to give you an idea of which ones have received the best overall reviews.
I need to mention that all Razor electric scooters come with a charger and battery. You do not have to purchase them separately.
Razor Electric Scooter Comparison Chart
By far the most popular Razor electric scooter is the Pocket Mod. It’s fast, looks super cool and is so much fun. Kids and adults can use this electric scooter, it is very reasonably priced too, which is another little added bonus.
Let’s take a look at the Razor Pocket Mod in action:
Compare Razor Electric Scooters – PROS & CONS
Let’s compare Razor electric scooters with a run through the Pros and Cons for each and every model.
If you are unsure about which Razor model to buy, this will help you out a great deal.
The Razor E90 is a 12 volt electric scooter that is super lightweight. This is the best Razor electric scooter for younger children to use. Take a look through our kids scooter reviews for more details on the best ones for younger children to use.
You should be aware that they have upgraded this model to something a little more powerful. This is called the Razor Power Core E90, it is a little more expensive and of course is 50% more powerful than the regular Razor E90. It goes slightly faster at 10 MPH, the regular E90 goes 9 MPH. However the big difference is the ride time, it has double ride time at a whopping 80 minutes, which is a significant improvement indeed on the regular E90 Razor model.
The Razor E90 is very safe for kids to use, the motor only kicks in when the scooter reaches a 3 MPH speed. To get the motor to engage kids need to kick off and get the scooter up to 3 MPH.
The big difference between the E90 and the E100 is the tire width. The E90 has thin plastic tires, makes this model lighter and easier to manoeuvre for younger kids.
- Slow and steady – perfect for younger kids to use
- Push button throttle – easy to operate
- Lightweight compared to all other models
- Easy to operate foot brake system
- Easy to handle – kids under 8 can use them with parent supervision
- Handles well on most terrain

- Cheap to buy
- Replacement parts are cheap to buy

Razor E100 & E100s:
The Razor E100 and E100s was developed for kids aged 8 years and up, however it is very easy to handle and is known that children under this age can use them too.
Just like the E90, the E100 has a juiced up version called the Razor E100 Power core. As you can see in our comparison chart, the major differences are the speeds and ride time. The E100 Power is slightly faster than the regular E100 electric scooter, the battery lasts out for an extra 20 minutes, which is quite significant.
This model has been rated the Scooter Select best electric scooter for kids to use, it beats all other makes and brands out there hands down. There is also another variation on the E100 model, this is called the Razor E100 Glow. The Glow has exactly the same features as the regular E100 other than lights illuminate the foot deck area, a little added novelty to the regular model.
This is a chain driven electric scooter, which is both good and bad in its own right. It’s good because it is very quiet, bad because the chain may come off, however it is pretty easy to get back on.
The scooter is kick start, the motor will kick into action when the scooter reaches 3 MPH.
The tires are 8 inches wide to ensure good stability, they do not require pumping up, which is an advantage because you will never get a flat tyre.
Parts are readily available, it is also possible to get better batteries for the Razor electric scooter, this enables the charge time to be considerably reduced and the ride time improved significantly. Go to our electric scooter parts page for more details on this.

So what’s the difference between the E125 and the E100? Not a lot really other than the small price increase. It has the same top speed as the E100 and has the exact same weight limits.
Top tip, do not drive them through water, I know it seems rather obvious but many people do it, this will almost certainly damage the battery. You can get replacement batteries really cheap, they start at around $12, which is pretty good value.
Razor electric scooters, including the E125 are very easy to assemble. To assemble one of these scooters you simply slide the handlebars into place and then charge it up before using. The scooter is really well made, light and easy to manoeuvre, yet a little too lightweight for teens to get a hold of, may damage easily with heavy use.
Compare razor electric scooters to this one and you will probably decide to go with one of the more readily available models, simply because it will be a lot easier to get replacement parts.

- Well made and very robust

The Razor E175 is very similar to the models below it right down to the E100. The big difference is the improved suspension system, which was done to improve the ride quality.
The very strong steel frame ensures durability and is certain to stand the test of time, even with boisterous teens on board.
The scooter can be assembled really quickly, all the tools are supplied with the scooter, you will not have any problems in this area.
The scooter features large 8 inch tires, they are not air filled so you will not get a puncture, which is possible with some of the later models.
Kids aged 8 years and up can use this electric scooter, although younger children have been known to use them. It all depends on how responsible you think your child is. Remember to get safety helmets and knee pads and they will be good and safe to ride all day long.

Younger kids have been known to ride this particular model, kids 8 years old can use them, it all depends on how responsible you consider your child to be.

- Perfect for the cheap price
- Is considered okay for kids under 13 to use

This electric scooter was designed for off road use. The RX200 is basically the off road version of the E200, even though the E200 handles well off road too, the RX200 is even better.
The RX200 runs at the same speed as the E200, however it features big off road tires, a high quality disc braking system and a better gear ratio system for high-torque trail riding.
The scooter is recommended for kids aged 13 years and up, however it has been know for kids a lot younger to use them under adult supervision.
I know that children as young as 5 years old can use this scooter. If younger kids are going to use them it is recommended they practice on grass first and then move on from there.
The scooter is sturdy and actually looks more expensive than it is. It really does appear to be a top of the range electric scooter, handles well on all terrain, a really good Razor model here, top choice for all you off road riders out there.

The ride deck is a little bigger than the previous models and is quite a bit heavier. They are most definitely recommended for teens and adults to use, it is possibly too fast for younger inexperienced kids to use.
The E300 has wide tires and is great for use off road as well as the tarmac. The wide platform ensures great stability. Even though the scooter is wide it is still narrow enough to fit on most bike racks out there.
You should be aware that the tires need to be kept inflated, this can be tricky to do with the back wheel being hidden slightly by the stand platform.
If you are looking for a cheap commuter scooter then this is a very good option. It can take weights over 200 pounds, although it will be a little sluggish going up hills. The Razor E300 just made it onto our top 10 fastest electric scooter list.

The super size deck ensures you can fit both feet on board comfortably, even large adults will have no problems on board this one.
The scooter has a variable speed twist throttle and uses a hand squeeze braking system. Probably not the best scooter for going up hills, great for commuting on flat levels.
This scooter is pretty fast and will be a big hit with teens ans adults alike. Not only that, it looks really sweet too, a great ride. One big problem is that the handlebars do not adjust, this will only be a problem if you are buying for younger kids to use.
For the price it is a very good buy, it does not have a battery level indicator, so you do not know when the battery is about to die. This is particular with all Razor models, you are going to have to pay more money if you want a battery level indicator.

Kids younger than the recommended age limit have used them, I know that children aged 7 years old have not had problems riding them.
The Razor Pocket Mod has large tires enabling it to ride on grass and gravel with ease. Some people may consider it to be a little loud, that is just being picky at trying to find a draw back with this product.

The battery is enclosed so it is okay to ride this scooter in the rain. However the main flaw with this model is that the motor is exposed, it can get rather hot, which is a little hazard.
It’s not the best electric scooter for adults to use, but it is pretty well sought after because of the low cost. The most popular commuter scooters are much more expensive than this one.

- Variable speed using twist throttle
